Why Architecture matters? by Blair Kamin
“Every building is a new piece of the evolving city, a new layer of the ever changing urban collage. This collective work of art, forms an unflinching record of who we are and what we do. It connects us in time and space to those who went before us even as it represents our legacy – for better or for worse – to those who come after. And that is why architecture matters.” Blair Kamin

Instead of designing a sub urban mall, we better design a habital space for the WILD LIFE which is already existing, but as of now there is no point in designing the whole 46acr for little wild life. Its just a thought, i came across :D
ReplyDeleteWhy is this a little wild life... every single life is a precious one..wether that of a human being or that of wild animals... just because we are able to express our feelings in many words and in many ways, does not give us the right to take away others' habitat or life!Think about it!
ReplyDeletei think we can all live in harmony, animals can be trained, and i doubt that the people using the mall would be unkind to the animals if proper instructive signage's are placed intelligently. People on the streets don't seem to be bothered too much by the dogs and peacocks around, that's one great thing about our country we don't meddle too much. I think the brief is good enough. Complaining about it or wanting it to change because it doesn't "suit the site", is an insult to our architectural, and urban planning skill. we should be able to pull people in, to recompose the fabric of the idea of the place. Although we're still getting there in terms of skill, i hope we learn something out of adapting a brief to a (critically acclaimed "unsuitable" site"). No offense intended :)

In fact this one is his first project in way back in 1995. All are excited .. including the staff.. This place has a little courtyard inside with some interesting spaces around it.. wait for the party!

ReplyDeleteden Y r we designing a sub urban mall?we have to respond to site existence and resemblance wright?
Point is to be sensitive to this aspect of existance and provide suitably for the wild life. How and what you provide in your design will reflect degree of your sensitively, ability and creativity.. Move on anyway!
